RM & MyHermes price rises....

The sub 1kg looks interesting with a depth of 3cm and up to 1kg at £2.26. Reasonably often I have a large letter that is just that tiny bit too big to fit as large letter and it really aggravates me I have to pay parcel price for being 1 or 2mm over the 2.5cm large letter depth......
Bear in mind that Hermes don't offer insurance cover with this option.0 -
Just come back from posting Hermes parcel using print in store.
Not happy - paid £6.49 instead of expected £2.95! Had no choice
but to pay as I had already mentioned in listing that I would be posting via Hermes.
I am just annoyed that we did not have any warning about this. At least with Royal Mail we knew weeks ahead so I had adjusted my prices. I have just ended some of my listings which were meant to use this service. Now have to find an alternative. Kicking myself that I did not hurry and get rid of all the heavy items stored in the loft.0 -
I'm in the same boat as the poster above. Just had an eBay item finish. Carefully packed it to be under 5kg, got to the store and was shocked to be charged £6.49. Very light but not possible to use RM due to the size of it, so just had to eat the loss. Was expecting to pay £2.95 or that they had put their prices up maybe 5p or 10p but £6.49?
Also see that the 1-2kg option is now over a quid more expensive than RM.
Woman in store said they had no warning about the price changes.
Are they CRAZY? Folk will just stop using them. Perhaps that is what they want.
At those kind of prices, for a 4kg parcel if you can split it (I can - I sell mainly books) then cheaper to do 2 x RM @£3 a pop.0 -
Can anyone suggest any good alternatives for books up to 5kg?
I do a lot of book parcels where postage is included and if I hike the prices too much then customers won't buy. But it's hard to keep a 6 book parcel below 2kg.
Ought to add here that I can't use eBay options as not all my sales go through eBay. Just had a look on Parcel2Go and its quite depressing.0
