Im thrilled to have gotten an interview with IKEA-as ive posted before i love the store already so im very excited at the prospect at working there!
I was just wondering if anyone else has any advice for me regarding the interview....ive been a housewife and mum that long that im scared they might throw something at me that im not expecting! My application was quite good so im hopeful that if i looked good enough on paper i might wing the interview...if the nerves dont take over!
Anyway...im so excited that i just wanted to share it with you's and any advice would be lovely!
Thanks,Laura.
The thing I always remember is: they want you to say what they want to hear.0 -
No sense in me giving advice since I am the worlds worst interviewee .. I can do the job just can't manage with interviews. So all I will say is good luck and if you see a devilishly handsome looking chap browsing your drawers then it might be me
ivanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
Thanks everyone for the support,im really looking forward to it now-its on tuesday morning-and have found a good site that gives lots of info into working there and what they expect from employee's!
My husband is being rather un-supportive about it though.....he said its not worth my while doing 12hrs a week because it wont earn enough money and we will loose the tax credits ect (he works 40+hrs a week) but i actually think he's just peeved off at the thought of having to bath the kids and put them to bed 2 nights a week!!!!
Anyway, its more for ME than the money although id like more hours i dont have any option for childcare and would hate to have to put the baby into a nursery.Im hoping if i do get the job i will be offered more hours after xmas and my husband will be willing to help with the girls every night!
I will post how i get on anyway....and i'll be watching for you Ivan (bet you'll frequent the food hall for the cheap grub, lol)
By the way,the family card gets you free tea/coffee every visit and a discount of 'family items' eg some items(like a cook book or bathroom items) will have family item written on the shelf ticket and you get say an extra 25% off them with your card. The items change all the time so you dont get bored and you also get sent vouchers in the post that are spend related which is quite clever,Ikea learn the types of things you buy and send you extra discounts...yey!
See.....i could work there!!!!!it takes more energy
to hate than to love...

I'm convincedthanks and good luck on Tuesday
You're absolutely right to keep your hand in with working even if you are mostly at home with the kids. Makes you less vulnerable should hubby get ill or whatever....
sorry not meant to be a downer just my personal opinion but might be worth pointing that out to him as well, he isn't invincible0 -
