There just doesn’t seem to be any details for them. There was a phone number on the original advert that was a Nottingham number but it was never answered and then seemed to be disconnected. The address at the bottom of the e mails is an American company but that could just be e mail host company. Of course the advert is no longer on Instagram and there seems to be no way to contact Instagram to find out if they have details £180.00 in 'sistercas'fund

Hello Miffy257. Thanks for messaging me as MaryHodge. I have had trouble getting back into forums, had to get new account now Magger!
Well it looks like I’ll get refund from my credit card. Still nothing from HDL. My last email from HDL was 5th April, ‘great news, your item is found and on its way’! etc. Nothing arrived.
So today I’m over 30 days since order so rules for claim for non delivery of goods kick in. I’ve just spoken to my. cc Tesco, and they will credit me with the full £99.95 and put the claim into HDL, or Store Purchase as it comes up on the credit card.
So for me I’m ok. And the best is to hope yours doesn’t turn up and then get however you paid to refund. I’ve seen same adverts now renamed companies, Harvison&Matley and also F&S. Scamsters the lot
I do hope and anyone else caught up in this gets their money back. Best way seems to be hope nothing turns up and get bank to do what the rules say.0 -
Has anyone heard of this company HD Liquidation. They were advertising handbags on my Instagram feed and I clicked to order and buy one. The advertised price was £14.95 but they took £99.95 from my credit card. I got in touch with my bank straight away and they advised to wait until the goods are sent return them and ask for a refund. If this is not forthcoming they will take it up. . . Am annoyed that I have been a bit stupid buying things this way but would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance
Be nice if you could name your bank (not the branch) so that the rest of us make sure we never hold an account with it. The advice you were given makes little sense, presuming, as it appears to do, on the excistence of "good faith" in the case of a possible fraud attempt, waiting for that Nice Mr Fraudster toll actually send you the goods you've been overcharged for: How simple-minded can advice get?. Also, as you say this was a credit card purchase, how come your bank got involved anyway? A debt card purchase, one might understand the bank's involvement and expertise. Both MasterCard and Visa are quick to investigate merchant accounts when issues such as this are reported directly to them.0 -
Hi. Just been on the phone to Lloyds to sort out a friend who has been a victim of this same scam.
The bank asked me to reply to one of the HDLiquidation emails asking about the bag & overcharging, which bounced immediately & then send another that wasn’t a reply, but just a direct email asking the same thing & that bounced too.
The bank have been fab & refunded immediately (they probably know all about the scam by now) and were absolutely brill.
They’ve also cancelled that debit card, because it was a worry that the scammer would try to take further payments.
Has anyone had any further fraudulent payments gone from their accounts after this scam?0 -
Anyone got a link to their website?
Googling only just about reveals weliquidateforyou.com which isn't valid.0 -
My credit card is Mastercard and I have it through Lloyds Bank. I talked to my Credit Card provider this afternoon and they took details but said the fraud team will phone me at some point. I asked about a refund but they said it will depend on me talking to the fraud team. My bank is Lloyds and I saw on this thread that someone else got an instant refund. Keeping my fingers crossed :cool:Hello Miffy257. Thanks for messaging me as MaryHodge. I have had trouble getting back into forums, had to get new account now Magger!

Exactly the same thing has happened to me. HDL took £99.95 from my account for a handbag on sale for £14.95, when I contacted my bank they said it was for web design and connection charges. About once a week HDL are emailing me saying order approved, and order packed and ready for delivery, haven't got to the courier has lost it bit yet, but I am sure that will come. Currently attempting to recover the amount through the bank process.
