If someone isn't respectful, put them on ignore, that's what I do.

I agree with that. The only reason I don't put people on an ignore list is because I am open to hearing what people have to say. I'm trying to interact with others, have a discussion and share knowledge but in the end it ends up with people who don't have the same open-minded approach and try to shame you in an attempt to silence you, stating that they know better and are unwilling to discuss alternative points of view or experiences. I don't know what anyone's credentials on here are, but I'd highly doubt that any solicitors or lawyers hang around on forums so we're all just consumers and none more qualified than anyone else to offer support and advice. I'm not listened to, even when I feel I offer valid points. If people can't be free to share their thoughts without being judged and shamed then this forum really isn't what MSE claims it to be and it will lose new members and end up being a site full of the same unkind people out to boost their own egos, instead of a site full of people banding together to help each other. They don't want that and neither do a lot of other people, but that is the way it's going with many threads ending up like this one being derailed because people are more interested in attacking instead of actually helping the OP. I know the aim of bullies on forums is to have people they don't like removed and the fact that this forum is full of bullies is a good reason to stay away for a lot of people. I don't know why anyone would want to be a part of such a hostile environment except for the people making it that way so I'll bide my time and hope I see some change in the attitude and hope it becomes more of a supportive environment and if not, god help anyone coming here in the hopes of a friendly ear to bend.

I think I’m correct in saying that Royal Mails ‘national returns centre’?? is in (northern) Ireland.

This suggests to me that after the Special Delivery wasn’t collected an attempt to return it to sender was made but as the sender hadn’t written a return address on the item then it couldn’t be. All items like this are sent to the returns place in Ireland where the item is opened to see if there is any clue to the sender. If an address is found it’s returned otherrwise it’s sold off and after costs are deducted the ‘profit’ is donated to charity.

This happened to a friend of mine a few years back.

This is where I’m confused as my return address was on the back and also the original label was still on the front, under the new one but easily accessible?

The seller says she didn’t know the parcel was attempted to be delivered but I did tell her it had been sent back and no it’s not been returned or attempted to be returned to me?

I’m happy to try and track down the parcel if needed, just annoyed that I’ve got too 🤦!♀️

You may need to wait until Monday to query it with Royal Mail. It depends when it was sent back to you, but they will be able to better advise you if you call their customer service number and possibly raise a query for you.

I understand your frustration. If the seller says she didn't get a card through she might be telling the truth and whilst it's inconvenient these things happen and we have to deal with them. You could try sending the information to the seller (your tracking receipt) and ask her to query it with Royal Mail, and they might talk to her. Previously they have insisted on speaking with the person who sent the item and who purchased the postage but it's worth a try if you feel she is to blame for not collecting the item. It seems reasonable considering you've done your due diligence in sending it back and informing her as such. I hope it works out for you.

As I said at post 5, the National Returns Centre for RM is Belfast and you will need to get in touch with them.

Perhaps your returns address was illegible....ring them soonest to identify the parcel.

As you've been advised, it's not relevant whether the parcel was received by the seller or not, as they are a business they are bound by legislation and that allows you some protection when returning.

I am glad to see some of the offensive posts have been removed, there really is no need for personal insults and what I saw was not in the spirit of the forum by any stretch of the imagination.

So it could have been scanned NRC in error instead of RTS.
You will soon see when the tracking updates.

If it’s in Ireland....you’re snookered...if it’s in Northern Ireland...you should be ok...it’s not surprising you may be having postal deliveries if you’re not sure what country it’s in....lol...hope you get it resolved ok.
