Yes you are - despite what you may choose to think.

Your insurance company will certainly think that.

If you say you were 'rushing to work' and 'forgot how close I was' as some sort of excuse, you will regret it financially eventually.

And no-one is being rude to you - they / we are trying to help you see it as others will.

    Regret it financially?
Are you suggesting it’s time for me to give up driving.....
I brushed against the car - yes I was stressed and in a rush.
I’m not suggesting it was anyone’s fault but my own.
I thought paying myself was an option - I’m not familiar with insurance claiming as I’ve only had two in my life so far.

Think the poster means that if you disregard out of hand the possibility that something has changed in the past 6 months and simply rationalise it as "rushing to work", "stressed", you will possibly continue to have accidents, costing you more money.

It's a shame you are not getting the fact people are trying to help here by highlighting the obvious change in your accident profile and trying to prompt you to think about possible reasons for this. There might be no reason, just bad luck, but why disregard the idea?

I wrote two cars off within 6 months of separating from my wife a number of years ago.

I do have a lot on my plate at the moment - I will make sure I take more care driving as I don’t need any additional pressures.

A court would see that as evidence of driving without due care and attention, so never be tempted to use that as mediating an offence - a court would ask why you are driving if you are so distracted that it contributes to you to having an accident.

Now she’s got 3 quotes. One is cash not written - £150, the other two are nearly 1k.

Do i give her £150 cash & get a reciept or go via the insurance?

    Any advice gratefully recieved.

If the insurance havnt already been informed, I would give her £200 and forget about it.

I’m not using it as defense.
I’ve never once said this wasn’t my fault.

I wasn't saying you were, but scraping a car can be a prosecutable offence for DWDCA and it isn't just you who reads this thread in the future. Answers in a thread can help more people than just you, the OP. You would be surprised how many see "I'm having a hard time at the moment; I am suffering from depression and on pills etc., etc., etc.," as mediating the offence when it actually aggravates it.

That was the cause of my first accident - mind on other things and not paying enough attention. Followed by a no fault accident where someone went into the back of me. Followed by a close shave leading to a damaged wing mirror, and caught for speeding.

At which point I have given myself a serious talking to because if I carry on like this I'm a risk to myself and others. Full concentration from here on in or I'm not getting behind the wheel.

I genuinely hadn't realised how carelessly I was driving, and I think that's what people are trying to point out. Aside from the danger to others, you don't want your premiums to get to the level mine are at, at the moment, and no one but myself to blame.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Just a tip: always reverse into a parking space and drive out.
