I wouldn't disagree; though customer facing in many jobs is completely different to the type of environment some (including me) have worked in. Sales is one thing - I have learned that "sales" and "marketing" in some types companies/industries is alien and completely different to most peoples' experiences - especially as a customer, but also for many who would class themselves as working in "sales". In fact, my own environment is even more extreme that the OP's - although for some reasons, I suspect, one where I at least have more control and independence. But, then, I haven't worked in their environment.

I do think that if the OP's motivation was to "help" people, they could have approached it in terms of what customers should be live to when faced with people trying to sell them products - especially add-ons like insurance - in the seller's environment. I could tell stories which would astound people, but it wouldn't help me and there are enough customer defences to overcome without reinforcing them.

OP is a poor salesman its that simple .

To be fair, many phone insurance policies are poor products, not worth buying from any salesman!

Believe me when I say it sucks even more having to set up your phone as part of our customer service, because essentially you're going the extra mile to serve someone who basically wants you sacked.
Don't blame customers for your companies expectations.
