its a long story so will make as short as possible.
purchased a tumble dryer in 2017 which we were contacted by Hotpoint as the item was a fire risk. here we had 2 options. we could exchange for free or we could upgrade for a small fee. seeing as we had had the dryer a year upgraded to a 9kg version of the same model etc.
well all seemed fine until a few weeks ago. basically the dryer broke and we knew was over a year old now by a few months so called a independent engineer out to fix it for us.
basically was there an hour and had stripped it down and said it would be cheaper to replace than repair and gave a itemised report etc and didn't charge us as said he couldn't help which this day and age is unheard of anyway...
... his report said the model number and it was 8kg so I dug out the paperwork from its replacement back in 2018 and noticed the 9kg model we paid extra for wasn't the one we now have! we have exactly the same model as before! do we have any rights here to either get the money we paid for this upgrade back which we can put towards a new machine or a replacement as we never got what we paid for and it just being outside its warranty etc. When the replacement was delivered we opted in to have the old one removed and new one installed and all packaging taken away so had no real war of telling the difference as the dryers looked identical. we have all the paper work etc
thank you for any help
