AOD, the floor in the greenhouse is concrete, and I have five plastic trough type things I put the pots in with gravel in them so any roots can expand to find more water.Makes watering easier too because I fill the troughs right up every few days. I moved them around a bit, and swept up all the dirt they'd accumulated for nesting in. They weren't happy and it was most interesting watching them swarm. None of them climbed up me either which was a nice change :)

Difficult one OL! Congratulations on getting the offer, it's good to feel useful and wanted.

    As for the decision...phew!

From my point of view being financially independent and secure at your 'mature' age would be important. Whether it's THE most important thing for you is not for me to say. Some of your previous posts indicate that your OH tightly controls the purse strings, often to your distress, something I would not tolerate. Again...how you live your life is not for me to say so please don't be offended.

Perhaps posting in the 'Marriage and Relationships' board would be helpful? I've never ventured in to there.

Whatever you decide I hope it all turns out well. You can always leave again if it doesn't.

My day has been fine - I've been taking photos of household furniture and taking measurements from floor to seat, all for the OT who promised to phone today and hasn't. I've done a little bit of shopping and taken a couple of more unwanted things to the CS. My lone student did turn up, luckily I had finished off prepping the work from last week so was ready for him.

My main meal was chicken livers in a garlic sauce with egg noodles and veggies, one of my favourites. I'll need to round DM's place to make sure that everything is in place, not that I've used more than the spare bedroom, bathroom and kitchen, they have catered for my needs.

    Hugs to the poorlies.

I wouldn't post on that board, you'll get some advice then the thread will start spinning between it's all your fault, it's all his fault, he's abusing you etc etc. Not that I read it much :)
If you need a financial boost, then obviosuly consider it, but for me, doing night shifts again is going to be a no no. It just messes your body up and the day after you have a choice to either go to bed first thing and wake up early and be in a fog all that day until you collapse in the night or try to stay awake all day and then collapse in a fog again. The day before you end up staying up late and having to tiptoe round the house not to wake anyone else up, and then you don't have time to fit all the stuff you'd normally fit in in. So really, one night shift is two days.
Butm if you are a night owl and can cope with it, then there's no reason not if the only thing stopping you is the fear of what others will say.
If it's a fear of what they'll do you have to ask whether or not taking the job will upset the balance you have between you at the moment.
But, if you did want a part time job, I'm sure there are lots you can apply for, have a look on Indeed t see what's available.
I, for one, would not be happy if mine treated me like yours, but it's not far off, and that's down to his previous taking him for everything, and my sometimes profilgacy. We also need to sit down and sort these things out, but we have made wills [after the BC diagnosis] so that mine is his, his is mine, and my familys is my familys.
I have to ask, since I'm not sure, are you married?

    PS to OL

ABSOLUTELY, DEFINITELY make your own will! Not sorry for shouting, I've had to struggle through my only sibling dying intestate with an ex wife, a wife, a floozie and five children, and then a nephew dying instestate, unmarried with a 'domestic partner (Oz speak) with property and three children. I didn't have the worst struggle (that was my sister in law) and that was enough. I had to give affidavits and have communication with the Victoria State Court as the floozie perjured herself during probate.

Protect yourself and your assets, if you don't then there will be an almightly family fallout and great upset. Just peek in the deaths board to see the results of an intestate estate.

I've got a miniature bottle of whisky which has my name on it. My tipple is not usually whisky but I am now driven to it by the memories of my departed brother and nephew - and will give thanks to the whisky angels for the continued survival of my mother. :rotfl:

Organza Lace blimey that's a dilemma ! I'm sure you will come to the right conclusion, you just have to give the problem a whole lot of pondering. Just a thought.... could you work on a trial period ? Say a month ? That might enable you to make a more informed decision. Good luck which ever way you decide.
Gintot I hope you and John had a lovely day out and you were able to relax a bit.
RosyRed some people need their heads banging together  Individuals get so caught up in their own little world that they forget that others can be involved too. Hope something gets sorted sooner rather than later.
TTFN but I hope to see you all tomorrow sometime. ( might even be able to get to the garden centre at last  ) Night, night all xx

I'm absolutely devastated, we lost Zeus today!
He was sofa vaulting this morning, then played out most of the day, came in ate his tea, n a while later started fitting.
The vet said She's never seen a fit last so long, in such a young dog, n that He might have been brain damaged had he lived😭
Me n Bonnie are lost without him :(
