Speky, axe throwing - didn't know people did that on dates - I thought stuff like that was reserved for the acrimonious end of a relationship!!
Hope you have a great night anyway. It seems to be the thing now for couples to share expenses, and why not.
I think St Gemma's sounds like a hospice shop, but TA will put us right on that0 -
Morning all from mehefinland.
its sunny two days in a row, but a sharpish frost overnight:D
Bruisemare still has an ooh-me. Stevie2shoes came and took the shoe off and had a good dig around and found absolutely nothing amiss in her hoof:eek: It means whatever is wrong is further up the leg but cant see anything obvious or any hot spots. Have to give it some time and see what happens. More pain relief and some careful management required.
They are filming this morning in one of the hangers up the road from us. It was like the M4 as all these lorries.vans and associated idiots steamed up our narrow lane to the new entrance. Good job nobody was coming the other way with a big vehicle (or even a small one;)). They have no respect for the people who live here  The all seem to think the speed limit is a target and as this was before 8 this morning had no regard for anyone else trying to get to work/school/whatever. Rant over.
Got a list of jobs from mrs M whilst the weather is clement ( a lovely old fashioned word that one), so I suppose I had better crack on.
Hugs and spoons to those in need

Morning all, we have sun too :j.
Well the plans for today to go to the garden centre to get my new secateurs have been scuppered as DGS was sick on his way to school this morning, so the cavalry was called. ( I think I am destined not to get them as this is the second time we have tried, and failed
) Anyway Mr Fix It picked him up, took him home to get changed and then brought him here. I think it was from all the coughing as his first words to me were " I missed breakfast so can I have...... " :rotfl:. Good job I did a top up shop yesterday
My tasks for today now will include cleaning the halogen oven and the cooker top, then just pottering about. I also need to look for something for tea too .
TA sorry the Sandman missed you last night. You will be first on his list for tonight ! Our cs shops are nothing like yours unfortunately they always want top dollar.
Nelski hope you have a good day.
Speky enjoy your date...... some free climbing next ? :rotfl:
Snoozer I hope all goes well for Steve today.
Gers hope DM is better today. Dad didn't do his scooter challenge yesterday as he wasn't well enough apparently, but he demolished his tea quick smart hmmmmm !
Thinking of Holly, taff, Poppy and dp1's lovely little DGD as always and sending everyone a gentle hug.
Take care

Morning all. A lovely sunning morning hut a tad chilly. John is improving all the time. No discomfort today and he had his bath wirtout me hovering nervously outside.
We are going out for lunch today with friends. Not far and to a pub where it is all flat. Our friend has a blue badge so we can park close to the door. I keep telling myself that it's door to door and sitting down so it will be ok but I will be on tenterhooks.
Then at 4pm we have the local gardener coming.to look at our fence that needs repairing after the wind punched through a panel and left another hanging askew and to give us a price for cutting the grass for a couple of months. Those of you who have gardeners what do ypu pay? I have no idea what is a reasonable price. I can do the flower bed and the pots I expect.
Gers glad Mum is able to come home. Look after yourself too. Nanny w good to see you back hun.
Well have a good day folks and thinking of all the poorlies, carers and those who are sad or worried."It's hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world"0 -
Morning!I was awake at half six but I thought that was a bit stupid early to get up, especially since I hadn't gone to sleep until after two, so I went back to bed.. Yesterday was very strenuous, I don't think I will ever learn and stubborn is not the word for it...But the lawn is mowed, the tree across the road has had all it's suckers removed and they are in my car along with other things to take to the tip [it was closed yesterday] . We moved the table ou tht eback and the bits of wood to approximate where the beds should be and I emptied the greenhouse of sutff that was being stored in there and persuaded an ants nest to relocate from under my troughs to somewhere else. A ot of woodlice are also unhappy with me. And my tomatoes have come up [well, some of them, the newer seeds...]
Todays plans are coffee tonight with friends, also a fridy tidy as we're having visitors over the weekend, a hoover, and move some more stuff around in th garden, maybe transplant a heuchera because it doesn't like it where it is. Also planted out another sage and another thyme.
Nelski, why are you not writing a book on Gourmet Car Park eating? I think it'd be a great read, how to make various foodstuffs while recording people watching...Holly, hope you're doing OK...Gers, bloomin good news there then, probably best to forget the other kind of stuff yes. AOD, hope you're better in the eye department. SO, no words, have a cwtch. TA, sounds like a freebie day of no bologbake then? Mehefin, hope she gets better soon. Nanny, wotcha, you need to practice the steely glare so the plants behead themselvessnoozer, take care of yourself, hope steve has not too many side effects and has slowed down.
Wotcha not posting people, hope you're not too bad.

Morning again folks. Just a reply for SPEKY, yes SR was right St Gemma's is a hospice and their charity shop in Otley is a clearance outlet, hence the 99p prices. (As well as 50p for books, 50p for jewellery and 5 DVDs for £1!)) There is quite a bit of tat to sift through before you unearth a bargain but it's usually worth a good rummage. NAN sadly this shop is a one off, all the other cs up here charge top whack!
Shopping done in record time this morning, including a quick visit to Morrisons where DD wanted to get the stuff she couldn't get in Aldi. All now put away which I always think is the worst bit!
I left the Bolognese slowly cooking whilst I was out so just the pasta to cook, then the cheese sauce to make to cover the bake and it will be ready to pop in the oven for the starving hordes arrival.
Righto an early lunch is calling as I had breakfast very early. It feels quite warm outside so I might be tempted into the garden for a quick tidy up afterwards. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning all,
Just realised I didnt even read here yesterday. After taking DGS to school ,DS2 & I went to a local retail park so he could get his travel money for the stag do they are both on and have a look for some new jeans. I spent a happy hour browsing in T kmaxx etc. Then DS1 realised he couldnt find his shorts anywhere so he had a trip up there too.Chaos then reigned at home while they did their packing  I also bought a steam mop they had in Li dl.I'm hoping for a really good tidy and for it to stay that way until next week :T DSons went last night to stay near the airport then they could have a good sleep before this mornings flight.
Now we have had a bit of sun the old issue over the right of way/ back garden fences/ 2 warring neighbours has reared it's ugly head again with our next door N going stirring things up again at the council.DH and another neighbour have been spending a lot of time liasing with them and the council. I could shake them,2 grown men squabbling and affecting the other 4 cottages like this  so selfish!
Gers pleased your Mum might be home soon. You have had a lot to deal with,no wonder you're up and down.
Speky hope the date goes well.Yes St Gemmas is a hospice in Leeds .My Sis in law was nursed there. They have a few charity shops which I've never been in but sound bargainous.
Taff, thanks for asking my face is still a bit blotchy & has gone really dry,but much better than it was

Sorry TA, read your post wrong, glad the bogbake is happening, another little push for the world to turn as it shouldNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

I have tidied, dusted, hoovered and washed the hard floors. Also done some washing.
Sorry to hear that your mum continues in her Cantankerousness SO and godo news about your mum coming home Gers.
OL I do a pick up every few days too, we live near a park, people go there with picnics and takeaway food and drop their litter as they come out. I should do it today but have no more energy.
Tuna sandwich for lunch in a minute, then must do something about dinner. I've had to type tuna twice, the tablet wanted it to be a tuba sandwich, an interesting concept but perhaps indigestible.
taff, my black eye has subsided, took a few days but quite gone now. How do you persuade the ants to relocate?I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Afternoon all:
It's lovely m sunny here today , which always lifts the spirits
I'm bracing myself to take my lovely DGD's Birthday card n money round later.DD,s still one on with me, for not siding with her against Mum, in the imaginary row She thinks they had  Anyway the Kids are my priority now, when I can get near them
After that, am popping to ALDI for some bits n bobs.
