It is not helping anyone when someone keeps giving incorrect information and advice out.StarDestroyer wrote: »I thought this forum was just consumers banding together to help each other, but if you have better information then all the better!

Many such websites often give either incomplete info or sometimes information that is simply wrong.
For a couple of years, the Citizens advice website was adamant that it was always illegal to open mail that wasn't addressed to you.
I e-mailed them (and I know at least one other MSE member did the same) a couple of times pointing out that this was in fact, incorrect but the wrong info stayed on the website for a very long time.0 -
Hmm, well I just came here to ask for help and offer any where I feel I can as a person. If you feel it's incorrect you're welcome to your opinion and to add any helpful information of course. When I ask for help I'm grateful for anyone who cares to respond, and of course people are within their rights to ignore anything said by anyone in life in general. It's really nice when people can get together to support each other and offer relevant links or anything really. That's all I'm here for, not to get into arguments or anything. Sorry if I've offended, it's not intended and I'm happy to listen to any respectful points of view given

That is a shame as they are there to help the consumer. There is a lot of conflicting advice out there and I suppose that's where forums can be a good thing as people can come together and share their experiences and information and hopefully form a clearer picture. They can be a wonderful thing! Anyway, this is getting off topic but thanks for the info

A bit like buying an item from the town centre and changing your mind, you don't expect them to pay your bus fare.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

Not really the same thing at all.
There is no legislation in place covering the return costs for a change of mind return when buying from a town centre whereas there is legislation that covers online change of mind returns.
Both the consumer & the retailer have rights and obligations under this legislation and one part of it specifically relates to what and when a retailer is obliged to inform purchasers about their return process and if the consumer is required to pay.0 -
