URGENT - Have I just been ripped off?

I have all the v5c, except for section 10.0

Unlikely to be a problem (but it does sometime happen) but have you confirmed that the cash given to you is all genuine?0

worriednoob wrote: »Hi guys,
I've just sold a vehicle to someone who purchased it on ebay. He came down and picked it up earlier today. When he turned up, I apologised to him that I'd just seen some damage that I wasn't aware of previously. He decided to back out of the purchase, so we cancelled the ebay transaction.
However he then changed his mind and said that rather than have a wasted journey, he'd still like to purchase the vehicle.
So we went ahead. We first tried to complete the sale via DVLA's website. However their services don't work after 7pm. So we completed the paper version of the V5 logbook.
In haste, however, we only completed the SECTION 10 - New Keeper's Details, which he took with him and we forgot to complete his info in SECTION 6 - NEW KEEPER. which is the copy I have kept.
He's now not answering his phone.... I don't know what to do?
Maybe he was driving his "new" car back home (or elsewhere) and can't answer his phone while driving (except your car has handfree and he set it up before leaving your address. Give it some time.0 -
Sorry for wasting your time but It's all sorted guys. He's now been in touch and sent a camera shot of the the little section 10 slip I will use the address given on the slip.
Apologies again. It's just that you hear all these horror stories and I had to play it safe.
Thanks for your support. Really appreciate it.0 -

Have I given the correct slip to him? I gave him section 10 and kept all the rest.
Your legal responsibility is to send the completed main page, including s6, in. That's the bit that actually generates the new V5C in his name. (Or you can do it online today.)0 -
Thanks Adrian.
I've just completed it online today. It states that I don't have to send the v5c back and need to destroy it instead.0 -
Correct. Online or post. One or the other, not both.0

Fill in the new owner's details and dates etc and keep it safe. Then if anything goes wrong with the 100% infallible computers at the DVLA (this never, ever happens :rotfl:) you still have the details.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)
