However if I was you I would take it back to wherever you got it and demand a refund. It's not a good sign when a week old Laptop refuses to boot. Particularly if all you have put on it is MSN.
I was thinking about that but they might not accept it as this could be something we have done and not just a fault. Plus there is an essay on there that needs to be submitted ASAP so I do need to get in.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
using someones disk wouldnt affect the licence as long as you only use it to make a repair and not actually try to instal it.0

Well doing the repair your computer just took me to a blank screen. How about "last known good configuration"?Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

if you can get into that it means you can get into safe mode, try last known good configuration" first and then try safe mode.0

Tried it, didn't work
Would going into safe mode and then doing a system restore work? :think:Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

Tried going into safe mode, it starts loading the files then gives me the blue screen with
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
at the bottom it starts a memory dump then it just restarts.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

I'll phone my dad to see if he has a vista disk I can borrow.
If he doesn't, whats the next possible thing? Or will it be sending the blighted thing back?Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
did you purchase it from a shop that you can take it back to.
You shouldnt have any problem with it as it is new, even if it is reconditioned.
If all you have done is instal msn then you have nothing wrong at all so dont worry that they will think youve messed it up.0 -

Its seems to be a serious error which by all accounts is pretty difficult to fix
(i think).
If you can get the vista disk you can at least try a repair but it may be easier to take it back.0
