Any help with this? OH's new laptop wont boot, it comes up saying that windows failed to start and to either start start up repair (which just stays on a blank black screen when selected) or start normally. After starting normally we get the BSOD which says.
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
....etc
I can't get far enough to go into safe mode.
Any ideas please?

Nope, can't get it far enough into the boot to initiate it.
Its only a week old (recon though) and no new hardware or anything other than MSN has been added to it.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

Don't think anyone would have one but wouldn't using someone elses disk mess with the licences?
I think laptop is set to boot HDD first then CD but I can change that if I need it.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Well you could try the repair option.
However if I was you I would take it back to wherever you got it and demand a refund. It's not a good sign when a week old Laptop refuses to boot. Particularly if all you have put on it is MSN.It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
