OP - Power Tonic thing is on Idealworld at the moment for an hour so it should come back on again. That will be much more indepth than those night time ads.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0

Thanks for that information. I might try and find out about the returns methods as if they collect it and I only have to pay £10 to have it delivered then it would be well worth trying it for a month.0

We have them at my gym - I use them, they are very good for increasing flexibility. Wouldn't rate them for toning - much better to stick to traditional methods - no such thing as a quick fix ... unfortunately!0

Hi, I am thinking of buying one of these. My sister has had one for a few months now and she says it has really toned her body.
Did any of you get one and if so what do you think now? Also, anyone know a good place to buy one (less than 200 pounds one).
thanks0 -
Can't you ask your sister where she bought hers?
As I said above, I used a £6000 one and it was a complete waste of time and money. Maybe you should try one for a while before potentially wasting your money on it.:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0 -
I bought one from Amazon (body sculpture for £100, which is half price), I was quite sceptical tbh but thought it could always go back. As it turns out when it arrived on Friday there was a wire severed that goes up to the control bit so it is going back on Tuesday but the base plate does actually still work so I have been having a wee go on it and I didn't spend too long on it yesterday but today my muscles are feeling like they worked a lot harder than they should for the time and effort I felt I put in. So thus far I do think they have some effect. So far I feel my calves and my triceps. I am intending to get a cross trainer as well though but I just need every bit of help I can get just now and I want something low impact due to joint issues I got during pregnancy. I also don't have much time to dedicate to exercising so I am trying to find ways to tone up that aren't going to take forever as I have to squeeze it in between DS demands and also because I think exercise is boring LOL. Going to a gym isn't practical for me as I have no one to look after DS. I am sure they aren't the miracle product that people are being told but I do think there is a positive effect and I certainly think they are good for getting your circulation improved, which is one of my problems. I would say they are a complement to your routine though rather than anything else. And they are lovely and relaxing if you do just the massage positions. I can imagine it being lovely if you have been on your feet all day.0

right then a little update on my BS power trainer. Amazon swapped the faulty one out no problems at all. This one is perfect thankfully. I have to say that so far I am really impressed. I did have a healthy dose of cynicism about them despite buying one LOL. But I can REALLY feel my muscles have been worked but for very little time put in and much less effort than it would normally take. You DO still have to put in an effort to hold the positions but even unfit old me has found that I can manage it, in fact I am whizzing up the intensity levels. I think if you were superfit to start with you might not notice such an effect but I haven't worked a lot of these muscles in years so I am surprised to find some of them do still exist. None of the exercises are impossible and my machine has 30 60 or 300 second options. I can certainly do all the exercises for 30 second blasts even at quite a high intensity and some of them I am managing for 60 but quite glad when it gets there. LOL. So basically I think it is working for me. I still want an elliptical when I can afford one as I do want some CV exercise too but in the meantime this is making me feel like I am doing something, and I manage to fit it in easily before my morning shower. And I am quite enjoying the feeling of my muscles reawakening. I think my skin feels smoother too so maybe that is the improved circulation - or my imagination I suppose.0

Re visiting this thread to see if anyone else bought one of these and their views?0

I used to use one at my old gym but they don't have one where I work out and I miss it - whether it actually did much for me is debatable but I found my muscles didn't ache quite so much after a work out when I used these. Have you thought about using one in a beauty salon or hiring one for a set period of time before you buy one? I know there's Powerplate hire near where I live?0
