A cheap to run car?

Just got my payout for car insurance after my car being stolen  and now thinking about buying a new one, I've been looking around on here but thought i'd make my own thread.
I can use the payout to buy but I don't have much incomings at the moment and looking for something cheap to run, okay to insure, and hopefully doesn't break down!

Does anyone have any ideas for a good little car that is cheap to run? Thank you!

On a serious, note, It would all depend on your budget for the car, your insurance and tax bracket.

Renault Zoe if you can accommodate a home charger, and the range fits your commute.

I would suggest narrowing things down a bit more......

What mileage per year, how many passengers, how much space etc etc..... and most importantly how much do you want to spend?

Any small car with small engine will be reasonably cheap to run.

Corsa, 107, KA, C1, Aygo, IQ, Mito...lots to choose from.

A small petrol car, like a Fiesta? (to be constructive).

However, I have the feeling that it does matter if it's a dark colour...

I'll ask the obvious questions - what did you have that was stolen? Why not buy the same again? If you couldn't afford to run that - then the rest of the questions have been asked already.
I need to think of something new here...

A Toyota Aygo for zipping around town and occasional longer journeys. Cheap to insure and cheap to run.
