I have sent in the MSE letter for PPI to my bank (Woolwich/Barclays) and received a reply stating that they 'no longer hold the offer document' and if I require any further assistance to contact them by phone.
I have found a document stating my Mortgage offer from July 2001 when I bought the house which states the amount fo the loan £199200 which is part repayment and part Interest Only with a 'Morgagecare amount of £74.61 and 'Monthly Insurnce Premium of £50.45.
Would appreciate advice on how I should proceed.
Thnaks in advance

If you have details which will help them to locate your accounts and any premiums you may have paid, it would be a good idea to send them.0

Thanks ZX81,
As they say they dont have the offer document and I do, does this mean I should be entitled to the PPI repayment as stated on the letter? I was self-employed during the time and so believe I was miss-sold so the £74.61 per month for 'Mortgagecare' was not applicable I believe.
Thanks again0 -
Who sold it to you? a broker or the Woolich?Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

It was the Woolwich through my bank Barclays0

I'd whack in a Subject Access request (SAR) for Everything they have on you - under GDPR they have a month to get it together & may charge you for excessive costs (but have to consult you first.)
They may not have *your* offer document but they'll likely have copy statements showing how much has been paid etc.
Don't deal by phone, if at all possible, get it written - email or traditional post.0 -

Why would you be asking for the offer letter? It serves no purpose with PPI complaints., does this mean I should be entitled to the PPI repayment
What makes you think that?
I think you have misunderstood the PPI issue. There is nothing worng with having PPI. Especially MPPI. You can still buy MPPI today.
The PPI issue is not about the product but about how it was sold. You havent mentioned anything about the sale.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Is this an offer of redress (which you perhaps didn't take advantage of?) or the actual mortgage offer from 2001?
You are not entitled to a refund simply because you have evidence of a PPI policy.
You sound utterly confused I'm afraid.
Note also that most PPI (especially the mortgage variety) did cover the self employed.0 -
I have my doubts as to the accuracy of the documents relating to my mortgage as I bought the house in July 2001 but there records show that part of the mortgage was drawn down in July 2001 and the remainder in October 2001 which was not the case, it all happened on the day I purchased.0

To repeat, you don't get a refund of PPI simply because you had a policy. It will only be refunded if you can show it was mis-sold to you. Don't complain that the policy didn't cover the self employed unless you know for certain this was the case.0
