Thank for the encourage everyone, I feel more settled now with the decision to go for IKEA kitchen. Design stage is taking longer than I thought because there are so many option to play with. I will get there very soon.
Anyway after reading many reviews and being pretty good at ikea flatpack I'm going to give this a go at fitting myself. Just wanted to add that my local store (Tottenham) currently has an offer of £100 gift card for every £1000 spend. So today ordered cabinets and some appliances for £4500 and walked away with a gift card for £400. This ends in a few days so check with your local store if still looking to buy.
Thank PrettyPlease, Do you know if the offer is store specific? I can't see the offer on IKEA website though.

    We love our Ikea kitchen.

We fitted it ourselves and my OH even made a book shelf unit for our cookbooks in a gap out of end panels even though he had never done
    anything like that before.

It took us a while to do but we took our time to get it all exactly the way we wanted it.

I think the end result is better than had we paid to have it fitted.

Ikea were cheaper when I was getting quotes, but you're probably not getting the highest quality when compared to some of the pricier kitchen installers as you're paying for more long-lasting materials and intricate craftmanship. Depends what you're looking for though!

Had IKEA kitchen fitted as part of major refurb 18 months ago. Builder was pleasantly suprised how easy it was to fit. Love it. Love my drawer within a drawer and my rubbish and recycling fitted unit. Their free design service was great - much better than Howdens - and the design features make it seem a much more expensive kitchen.
  • sorry I have just seen this. I had no idea if store specific, Was surprised to see the offer instore. I hope you managed to find out.
