    Gary,

And please don’t take this the wrong way, but you do know this forum is intended to help people don’t you ?

I only ask as the tone of your posts can be somewhat negative and forthright towards the original poster at times, I may be reading you incorrectly, and if so My apologies.

  • Again apologies for being honest and not bubble-wrapping everything.

Do you want me to just tell OP it will get removed and everything will be hunky-dory again despite them being in breach of their contract?

No not at all, but is a little hope too much to ask ?

You do realise that "Just Di" is Diana Mayhew in the real world? She is a Litigation Executive at Joanna Connolly Solicitors, a firm which specialises in consumer credit. She really does know what she is talking about and is far more qualified than either of us to talk about the finer legal arguments. (Apologies Gary if you are also a solicitor or legal executive.)
I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

    I love my job

  • And I’m sure there’s many others as well. However that still doesn’t change things.
  • Thanks all for you input.

I am and never have tried to evade paying. I had a dispute and was waiting for O2 to sort yes, I didn't chase them but, I felt the ball was in their court and after a while I did forget about it. I remained at the same address for another 3 years and not once did they contact me. In addition I left a forwarding address still nothing, the first I knew about it was when I recently checked my credit report.
  • I’m guessing as part of this dispute you stopped paying your bills?

That’s always the wrong step to take if so - monies can always be refunded back to you following the final outcome.

No I hadnt stopped paying, I understood the contract had ended and I had taken out another contract with a different supplier, but O2 where claiming that it hadn't.
That was the original dispute that I was asking them to prove.

Bit off topic from the original question however regarding your mortgage application, there are many main stream lenders who would offer you normal rates as long as the default is satisfied, particularly if it is telecom related. I am a mortgage adviser within a high street bank and I must see it once a month if not more.

If I was you, personally I would just pay the default off and move on.
