Again apologies for being honest and not bubble-wrapping everything.
Do you want me to just tell OP it will get removed and everything will be hunky-dory again despite them being in breach of their contract?0 -

Thanks all for you input.
I am and never have tried to evade paying. I had a dispute and was waiting for O2 to sort yes, I didn't chase them but, I felt the ball was in their court and after a while I did forget about it. I remained at the same address for another 3 years and not once did they contact me. In addition I left a forwarding address still nothing, the first I knew about it was when I recently checked my credit report.0 -
I’m guessing as part of this dispute you stopped paying your bills?
That’s always the wrong step to take if so - monies can always be refunded back to you following the final outcome.0 -

No I hadnt stopped paying, I understood the contract had ended and I had taken out another contract with a different supplier, but O2 where claiming that it hadn't.
That was the original dispute that I was asking them to prove.0 -
Bit off topic from the original question however regarding your mortgage application, there are many main stream lenders who would offer you normal rates as long as the default is satisfied, particularly if it is telecom related. I am a mortgage adviser within a high street bank and I must see it once a month if not more.
If I was you, personally I would just pay the default off and move on.0
