Do you want an underwriter looking through 12 months of your bank statements?
The answer to that could well be that you have nothing to worry about, but you should be prepared that it will take longer and there will likely be transactions queried.

They are not big fans of you just getting a print out of the rental payments, the bit I alluded to earlier is because although that can see it has been paid, they have no evidence it was not returned, personally I think that is a bit pedantic and I have been able to get them to accept it in the past, but I think it comes down to your underwriter.

  • Ok good point thank you, so would they be happy with a letter from the landlord / letting agent confirming the rent has always been paid on time?
Also if you don't mind what kind of queries are typically raised about transactions on the bank statements.
Having looked at mine in depth, what has jumped out at me is a lot of low amount transfers back and forth between me and my teenage daughter (small £20 loans and if i'm lucky a payback a week later!), a LOT of takeaways (just eat/macdonalds/costa etc), a £7200 deposit from somebody we sold a caravan to.
Do they question a lot and does this hold up the process?
And do they ever request more than 3 months?
Thank you so much for your time in replying
  • And also do they ask for company accounts or just the sa032s they’ve already requested? If they do want full accounts do the accountants need to have any particular qualifications I need to check what they have.

I do not mean this to come across as rude, but these are questions you should be asking your broker.

Your broker may do/need different things to what I would.

A prime example, we had a case with pepper earlier this month. The underwriter came back and asked for 3 additional things. By the end of the phone call, I had managed to get that list down to 1. Some brokers would just accept the list. So what I think we can get away with could be different to your brokers, and your broker knows you far better than we do.

  • Sorry I should have mentioned my broker was away at the weekend & I have put these questions (and many others) in an email to him and am hoping for a response today but I just felt anxious and desperate for answers.
    Many thanks for your help.

I’m looking to use pepper money uk for a mortgage in the near future. Has anyone had any recent dealings with them to get a mortgage. If so how was the you’re experience.
My credit file isn’t perfect but not the worst either. Hopefully I’ll be able to secure a mortgage with pepper.

They are similar to how they have always been. However following the corona virus outbreak they have tightened up on:
    - Self employed applicants,
    - Bonuses/Commission are no longer accepted,
    - If you are on furlough they will not accept you.
Everything else is as like it always has been in my experience.

That’s completely fair enough & understandable.
I haven’t been on furlough anyway so don’t think I’ll have a problem.

Not seen much posts for a while on here from anyone that has recent dealings with Pepper uk.

I’ll see now I get on near the end of the year.

    Thanks for you’re help.
