  • then return them using your 28 day right of return as a distance selling contract.
    If you do this, at least know the timescale and legislation. ;)

    I didn't mention any legislation, I simply stated that it was a distance selling contract (which it would be) and this is terminology that is used on many legal and consumer rights websites:
    The right to cancel distance selling contracts is set out in the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (referred to in this law guide as the 'distance selling regulations'). They include sales made:

    on the internet;
    over the phone or by fax; and
    by mail order, including catalogue shopping

    As to the 28 days I mentioned.
    The consumer has 14 days to inform the trader of their wish to return the goods then another 14 days in which to put them in the post or hand them over to a courier.
    When I went to school, 14+14 equals 28

    Not the one op is needing, a charcoal filter is a specific to model cartridge filled with activated charcoal. As stated above, they are usually available as after market copies or often fairly easily refilled.

    Your reply makes no sense. You are saying the same as me I think, but worded different?

    There are two different types of filter in many extractor hoods, one that can often be replaced by cutting a sheet to size:

    and one that can't:

    So it depends on what type the OP is referring to.

    There are 23 cooker hood filters on Hotpoint's website and all are accompanied by a part no.. That wasn't too difficult to find.

    On a different note, my daughter's Hotpoint oven bottom glass door disintegrated and after checking their website needed to confirm the correct replacement. They couldn't have been more helpful, over the phone, and even arranged next day delivery at no extra cost.

    Shaun you retain the plastic cartridge, you cut out or rip the carbon filter material out (can be messy and sticky) and you replace with fleabay generic active carbon sheet or foam and insert back into OEM cartridge is what I think he is saying or trying to suggest.
