Hi,

I need your help please :A

I was having an issue with my PC not connecting to the internet. Tried to roll back to a restore point on my HP 34-b070na but that did not work.
Now, when I attempt to start up it shows the hp start up flash screen then the cursor with a blue spinning icon.

I am using Windows 10.

I really don't want to do a complete Windows re-install if it can be avoided

The first thing I would do, is to use some backup software, such as Macrium Reflect, take a complete image of the system. Then you should have a backup of the system, working or otherwise, with your user files.

With a backup done, attempt to reinstall Windows and use the backup to get your user files from.
  • Does bashing the f11 key on start up get you into repair mode? I think hp machines have an option to reinstall windows whilst keeping your files.

Refresh with "keep data" option. (**may lose program installtions.**) Backup important data first - either from command line (one of the recovery options) or see Macrium above.

Hi, I have downloaded Macrium on my laptop. How would I use this to recover my PC?

Use the Rescue Media Wizard to create a bootable USB stick or CD/DVD. Then put this into the the failing machine and tell it to boot from it - you may need to change the boot order, or press a key as the machine starts up so you are presented with the boot selection menu.
