A buddy system is a great idea! I for onw would love that as sometimes I find raising extra money difficult - I still live with my parents and therefore don't buy the groceries, insurances etc that can boost earnings through the likes of quidco. Also it means I can't sell unused house stuff as it technically isn't mine!

Those dates are great and I think a monthly overall update is fine and if people want to update there own sigs more frequently then that's ok too.

    Just my ten pence worth.

    Cheers
    Hope x

those dates sound fine to me Gemmzie :)

I have enjoyed seeing the money coming in and actually saving it for once. The Olympic Challenge gives me a target to work towards and somewhere to save those extra bits of money that otherwise would be swallowed up.

Monthly totals sounds fine to me too as I have probably only updated once a month anyway :o

Sounds great Gemmzie. If some people want to continue to update their totals weekly then I don't mind keeping an up-to-date list, and updating it fairly regularly with everyones totals. Might need some help at the beginning of June though as we get married then! :j

I like the buddy idea - though not sure how it might work out in practice? Would it be useful to compile a list of all the ways we made money during this challenge?

I'll be up for it, we've booked a holiday next October that I need to save for, and this time I'm not going to count my 'second' job, just to make it more of a challenge.

  • :j Woooo Hoooo I have had a good day on Amazon today. Sold 3 items and made a total of £83.53 - will update tomorrow when I have taken postage off.

Can I ask why the next challenge is going to be over 8 months? I dont mind but just wondered why

  • The buddy idea sounds great! I personally like to updat weekly as it keeps me going and stops me from slipping! But monthly is fine too

  • I think a monthly total sounds like a good idea, I update my total as it increases anyway but a monthly list will help us keep track of where we all are. looking forward to the next one as I would have carried on my olympic ways anyway but this way I will be able to keep track better.
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!

We can still use the thread for weekly updates and tips but I'll update a "post 4" monthly.

Erm, well we were due to start sometime in January. The real Olympics start 08/08/08 so I figured why not run till that? Then we can go from 25th August to Xmas in a mini one maybe ?

I am so chuffed I made my silver target this weekend.

thank you all so very very much, especially Gemmzie for running this . I have really enjoyed this challenge and will definitely do another in the New Year.

Thanks for all the hints and tips on selling stuff, I now have a much less cluttered house and am on first name terms with the girls in my local building society.

so to add to this weeks total £547 making a total of £2257.48.:T
  • Have listed 8 items on ebay - mainly perfume so hopefully these will sell for Christmas pressies to someone! I have also had some more cashback from Quidco for flights I booked for travel with work.

So my total is now £543.43 without the eBay money!

Am going to list some more this weekend on eBay too.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
