I’ve sent off a screen recording showing it’s still not been fixed. I don’t think it’s a big deal really after reading the BPA CoP, they must offer at least one method of appealing, and they do, which is via post. I suppose they haven’t really breached anything with the glitch with the link.

I’ve not actually received the rejection letter yet and only know from the email from the BPA so I suppose I’ll complain to the landowner first as it’s worth a shot but I won’t hold my breath.

In the meantime, I’ll be putting together my appeal and I’ll run it by you guys once it’s completed.

The NEWBIES sticky is really helpful, thank you coupon-mad and everybody else for putting it together for us.

I think it's a very big deal, and they've (apparently) lied to the BPA that it's rectified.

I’ve received the rejection via email from them even though I expressly stated to be contacted by post only.

Given my POPLA code so I’ll start drafting that although I’ll still be appealing to the landowner and my MP as well.

    I’ll keep you updated.

I agree that they’re lying because it clearly hasn’t been fixed and I’m still going to keep at it until the BPA have made them fix the link.

    Hi, I need some advice.

I’m using this from my phone so unsure of how to start a new thread.

I received another PCN and the contravention code used was 81. I understand the description of that code is “being parked in a restricted area in a car park” but the parking attendant wrote “any vehicle parked outside a designated bay” as the description.

The BPA list of national parking contravention codes clearly states the correct description for 81 is being parked in a restricted area in a car park and definitely not the description used by the parking attendant. The two descriptions don’t mean the same thing at all.

When I queried this with NSL, the agent had to check with her manager, she then came back and told me that the description used by the parking attendant for contravention code 81 is correct and that the contravention codes listed in the BPA doesn’t apply because this is private land. So I asked if they have another set of parking contravention codes for private land and the woman went online to check but of course she couldn’t find anything.

They refused to cancel it and just told me to appeal.

So, my question is, are they trying it on and blatantly lying to me or am I just confused and need to research better?

Please help because as far as I’m aware there’s only one set of parking contravention codes which are used nationally and I’m not aware of a different set existing for private land.

    Thank you

She's right, of course the Council PCN codes don't apply. There are no standard 'codes' for private land, it is completely different.

I am astonished you phoned a parking firm, despite all the advice here NEVER to do that, you probably gave away who was driving too, and they might have recorded it?! Never ever ring parking firms or debt collectors about these scams.

As it was a windscreen PCN you know the score - appeal AS KEEPER (NOT DRIVER) on day 26 (see NEWBIES thread) and complain if the NSL appeals page glitch is still a problem. See other NSL threads from this week, and test the appeals page on day 20 just in case.

    Hi,

    Just a quick update.

The PCN was cancelled thanks to my MP’s help who had to point out the obvious (the sign was not visible).

    Thanks everyone for their help.
