    Me and the OH holiday most years 2 or 3 times on haven sites via Sun £9.50 holidays.

    Every year I think how nice it would be to own one, and be able to come and go when we please for as many, or few nights as we please, or can.

    I then remember my neighbour, who owns a static van telling me the thousands it costs him a year in site rental, council tax, insurance and utilities. Also how his grown up children (as are mine) expect free use of the van and without risking a family fallout can't refuse to let them use it.

    Also OH is the voice of reason pointing out that renting is cheaper, has none of the hassle or ongoing obligatory costs.

    And then I read threads like this and realises its a dream that could just as easy be a financial nightmare and world of worry.
