The good news is that hard times create hard men. And hard men create soft times. Soft times create soft men, soft men create hard times and the cycle repeats.

That's (almost) a quote from G. Michael Hopf. Ironically from a book called "Those Who Remain"

Yes the name of that book is ironic

    There is no uncertainty.

Well, it's uncertain what the end game of cancelling it will be, but there is no uncertainty as to leaving, because that was never going to happen in the first place.

I once read Donald Trumps book and although I don’t like him, his negotiating skills are legendary. He just walks away.

They will never agree on a deal, so why not try Trumps negotiating skills and walk away.

Yes it will be hard on the UK but it will be extremely hard on the EU as well.

We can buy our good from other countries and the EU will be begging for trade deals, and wish they had negotiated better before the no deal fiasco.

Yes it will be hard, no two ways about it, but no deal is better than Mays bad deal, and certainly better than prolonging the pain and uncertainty only to leave with no deal months down the line.

When you’re a billionaire making a business deal of course you can walk away, because you have nothing to lose. There is nothing legendary about it, it’s not remotely like trying to do a Brexit deal where you have to consider a lot more than your own pride. The UK has everything to lose and we’re in a weak position.

You don’t know the EU if you think they will beg for trade deals! They have been playing hardball with the US for years. Funnily enough Trump isn’t remotely interested in taking them on because he knows he doesn’t stand a chance. He focuses on the UK because we will be an easy target.

You sound very uncertain about the fact that there is no uncertainty :rotfl::rotfl:

    Why?
Because May doesn’t want it, parliament don’t want it and the EU don’t want it.
How were going to get out of it I don’t know.
    BINO is my guess.

Nobody wanted to extend the uncertainty either but it has happened

No deal will happen at the end of the extension youll see. There will be a few more extensions on the extensions until they just can’t extend anymore then no del brexit.

Until then the merry go round of options will waste everybody’s time.

I can't see us extending beyond the EU parliament term, nor making any progress in the mean time. If we can't agree something amongst ourselves by the 29th we're as well just leaving and then begging to get back in.

LOL, he has the negotiating skills of a five year old. Give me what I want or I'll have a tantrum! :rotfl:

    As a consequence:
    • He'd be richer if he'd put daddy's money in the stock market rather than using his "legendary negotiating skills" in the property business.
    • His "legendary negotiating skills" resulted in the longest government shut-down in US history until he eventually backed down in a humiliating defeat.
    • His "I alone can fix this" tactic resulted in abject failure with North Korean denuclearisation.
I dread to thing how much worse things would be if he had been in charge of Brexit negotiations.
