Breach of Credit Consumer act?

I held a Very account that was inactive. I asked for it to be cancelled and was assured it would be in November 18.
I recieved a letter this week advising if I didnt use my account it would be closed.
The advisor has agreed that the account was not closed when it should have been so I believe this is a breach.
Any scope for compensation do you think?
