Yes, but TD was short of Chablis, DPD has plenty.
.... and possibly participating in some midday imbibing? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Does anyone know of a company that takes it on, on your behalf? I would be happy to pay a company that is fighting against these charges
There are none we ever recommend and people who don't look these aggressive firms up on TrustPilot, before parting with their money, need their heads examining!I looked in to private parking solutions and there were so many bad reviews that I am worried about handing over the responsibility.
DO NOT CONTACT ANY SUCH 'COMPANY. CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH - ALWAYS AVOID!
You need to email Gladstones in response to the LBCCC (you do not have to use the paper forms) and prove you live abroad as your permanent domicile (ATTACH PROOF THAT YOU LIVE AND WORK THERE), and tell them you will contest jurisdiction and will hold their client liable for the costs of your N244 application and any resulting matters, including not limited to, the flight and other travel costs, if you have to attend a hearing.
Tell them they have been fairly warned of these costs and must now revert to their client, and you suggest they cancel the charge as you do not have a UK address (relatives live at the old address) and as such you also require their client to:
- erase the old address data, and
- rectify their address data to your current address for service which is:
xxxxxx (the address abroad)
and that if they try to serve post to that address without using a method that ensures tracked/fast delivery, they will also be liable for any and all 'set aside' costs, should they obtain Judgment in Default due to their own negligence in failing to ensure timely service.
Finish by saying you expect a response within 30 days and not a claim form, given the circumstances as the claim is meritless as well as out of jurisdiction.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
