No. why would I be, I dont live there.
would you rather have their health care system as well0 -
Yes, they do get much better deals, I posted something similar here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5925078/why-do-americans-get-way-better-cc-deals-than-us&highlight=why
Watch Out though, you will get shot down pretty fast by some, for daring to suggest anything British isn't perfect.
Previous poster... "Why would I be I don't live there"..
You do realise that makes no sense at all. If you lived there you would have access to the deals, therefore the jealousy (I and the OP) feel is a direct response of not living there.:rotfl:
As for their healthcare system, how is that even remotely relevant??
But, to be honest, yes, personally I would. If you have a remotely decent job in the US then the healthcare package you get is 10x better than what you get here on the NHS. All for a very low token cost. So in effect you get better, faster treatment. Hell my GP here could only give me 10 rushed minutes! And waiting months and months to see a specialist? Wouldn't happen in the US if you have a job with a decent healthcare package. (which most every half decent job does). This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Well, my mother wouldn't be in a wheelchair now under the US system.
And with chlorine washed chicken, perhaps my father wouldn't have spent a week almost dying of salmonella.
Who knows. Don't think it's got anything to do with credit cards though!0 -
Not really no since we get “better” things than they do in the USA.0

What's so special about a metal card? A few weeks ago someone posted here about the lack of "metal cards" in the UK but never explained why a metal card was better than a plastic card.
It’s a vanity thing.
Also a lot of card machines don’t take them like car park ticket machines and such as they either don’t fit in the card slots, or they do and they get stuck or come out scratched from the feeding mechanism0 -

I do not believe that this statement stands up to careful scrutiny....
Most middle-class Americans have worse health-care than us on certain measures: they will always pay a proportion of the cost of any treatment and may well find that drugs or therapies that they require are not covered by their HMO.
GP appointments in the UK are scarce, but you can always book a double appointment if you think you may need more than ten minutes. And when I recently had to use my local hospital's A and E I was really surprised at how quick it was, and how thorough and professional they were -- to such an extent that I asked the doctor if it was an unusually quiet day, to which she laughed and said "Oh no, we're all rushed off our feet at the moment".0 -

Sounds nice, but of course there is far less consumer protection there and far less help from your card provider if you have been cheated. If we were to do away with Section 75 and the FCA then probably our credit card companies would also be sufficiently profitable to offer these benefits, but I think I prefer things the way they are.0 -
I get five weeks holiday a year plus bank holidays. The standard in the US is two weeks."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

Wow. 5 week's holiday. That's an amazing credit card perk. What card is that?:money:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
