Have received the small claim DQ (form N180) and going to send them back before the deadline on 23/04/19. There will a possible court hearing at the Derby Combined Court in the near future. As my wife's English is not good enough to attend the hearing by herself, can anybody advise if she can apply for an interpreter or, I myself can act as the LAY REPRESENTATIVE in this case? Many thanks.

You can be a lay rep as long as she attends as well. Not in her absence.

Good morning Coupon-mad. Have just received a Notice of Transfer of Proceedings for allocating the hearing at County Court at Derby. I shall act as the LAY REP in the hearing. Could you please advise me how to apply to the court as a LAY REP for the case. Many thanks.

You don't have to do anything at all in advance, there is no permission needed.

Read this and go along with the Defendant on the hearing day, armed with the Lay Reps Order in case the Usher/Judge thinks you are a silent McKenzie Friend:

Good afternoon everybody. I am writing to update the status of the case.

    (1) have received the notice of allocation to the small claims track (hearing)
hearing date: 22 November 2019 at Derby's combined court centre

Each party shall deliver to every other party and to the court office copies of all documents on which he intends to rely at the hearing no later than 25 October 2019.

    (2) General form of judgment or order stating that:
It is ordered that: The claimant shall file and serve a reply to defence by 4pm on 10 July 2019.

I think it is time to prepare the WS and could anyone advise me any appropriate thread I can follow.

    Many thanks.

Look again at your Notice of Allocation. The Notice that gives the hearing date.

Is there not a paragraph something like:
Each party must deliver to every other party and to the court office copies of all documents on which he intends to rely at the hearing no later than [ . . . ] [14 days before the hearing].
    Might be on the back.

General form of judgment or order stating that:
It is ordered that: The claimant shall file and serve a reply to defence by 4pm on 10 July 2019.

However, up to this moment, I have heard nothing from any party yet.
You must inform the court that the Claimant has ignored that Court Order.
    Should've done that months ago.

Hi KeithP, I have missed that paragraph, sorry.

Shall I write to inform the court that the claimant has ignored the order now?
Do I need to prepare the WS and send before 25 October 2019?
Please advise which thread shall I follow.

    Many thanks.
