iPhone screen repair
I have an iPhone 6s, it is out of warranty. The screen is slightly cracked, but growing. The damage was my fault.
For an official Apple repair their web pages quotes £152.44 for this repair! A quick Google showed a phone repair shop near me doing a screen replacement for £55
I’m wondering what members think of unofficial screen replacements. Is an official Apple screen repair worth almost £100 extra especially as John Lewis sells the 6s with 128 GB for £319
I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts, and any advice you have to offer especially from those who have went down the ‘unoffical’ route
As always many thanks
Kevin

The replacement parts costs:

The replacement of the original display is 30 - 40 pound, "after market " (3rd party) display is 20-25 pound.

Your iPhone 6s may not be updatable to iOS 13, so you may not want to spend extra money. I would think that as long as you would get a reasonable good quality 3rd party screen, that would be OK. (I personally recommend ReplaceBase, They are pretty good.
If you are good at DIY stuff, even you would try it by yourself.

If you replace Home button assembly, you will lose touch ID function.

But this is nothing to do with the screen replacement itself. (I have done this for my friend)
