Hi,
I have read posts from 1yr ago and just looking for some more up to date info on paying these.
I have received an OVERDUE PENALTY to OWNER for PARKED IN AN UNAUTHORIZED AREA. I wasn't parked in a bay but i wasn't blocking anyone.
The penalty charge is 100 with a 27 admin fee, which is ridiculous.
Any advice appreciated!
Cheryl

Is this a Council ticket? If not, it is not a penalty but an invoice for the alleged damage you caused them when you allegedly breached an alleged contract. In other words, a scam. Complain to your MP.
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
The problem become so widespread that MPs agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. It received The Royal Assent today. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

the fiasco regarding bylaws and particularly indigo came to a head last year I think it was department of trade that jumped in (I think DOT) if you read thru . you will see there is no POPLa appeal setup for those , you are offered a AS appeal
only the train co can take you to court , and they have to do this within 6 mths
please read newbie thread especially bylaw parts , then read how others have acted with those0 -
Yes it was at a railway station0

These tickets are scams with no recourse to an impartial appeal. Complain to your MP.

if you follow other indigo threads , you will read that you will get many threatening letters , hell even threatening to kidnap your dog!
but after 6 mths they can whistle
plan "a" phone , write etc etc and get no where
or
plan "b" , sit back and collect lots of toilet paper for the next 6 mths0 -
