Sounds like the renter was some poor schmuck from portugal who was paid to open a legit bank account and rent a flat in the UK then go back to portugal. You could try and sue him in portugal but suspect it's more hassle than worth.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

I think the Portuguese guy will be more concerned with hiding from the police on a drugs related charge.
Obviously the cash they get from selling the cannabis makes this whole enterprise worth the risk to all involved.
I wonder how the police found out about the cannabis farm?
In my experience the UK police attitude towards illegal drugs is quite variable; often they'll pretty much ignore it - until pestered by local residents. Then they'll suddenly get very excited and start bashing doors down (with local reporters there for publicity). There will be a dramatic sounding ''operation'' announced. Then a few weeks later it's all ignored again...0 -
At least you will have some nice juicy losses that you can offset against your income tax to the HMRC for a few years.0
