Is now a good time to convert euros to sterling?

Hi.
Ive just found 300 euros left over from an old holiday (woo-hoo!).
Is now a good time to convert them to sterling or should I wait for another time? If now is a good time to convert wheres the best place? Post Office?
Thanks

I would be very surprised if the Post Office features high in the options, if at all.

As for the best time, anyone who can forecast that stands to have a brilliant career in forex trading...

As Photome suggests, sell them to a friend who is traveling to the eurozone, at the mid-market rate, or keep them for a future trip.

    Thanks guys.

Put another way: How does the current exchange rate fair as compared to - say - the past 5 years? Im just curious. Is there a chart online or something I can see?
  • Are you likely to go to the Eurozone in the near future?

It doesn't what what the exchange rate was years ago, the current exchange rate will be based on current circumstances. E.g. your Euros were worth less in GBP before the Brexit vote but that doesn't matter now.

go to xe.com to see the currency fluctuation rates for the past 10 years. It was actually better a month ago to do buy back as the exchange rate has gotten better recently.

If I were you I'd wait a few weeks to see what's going to happen with Brexit! No one knows the future, but usually when big things happen like the Brexit vote it affects the exchange rate.

I would also suggest selling to a friend if they're going away or keep them if going into the euro zone this year.
