Hi,
been using it for a while now and no probs, don't seem to get a lot of updates though, is that good or bad?0 -
Firewalls don't need to update very often. They're blocking traffic to and from your machine, they're not like AV software that has to respond to new threats. They normally only update if they release a new version of the application. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
Very good, I'd been using it a while (until I upgraded my NOD32 to the full security suite including firewall). Comodo is a the best free firewall I've tried so far."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

It's the best free one out there in my opinionIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0

I discovered this recently, and although I don't use it myself (I have a hardware firewall on my router, and one on my motherboard), I have installed it for a few friends. It was easy to use/install, and worked very well. I found a few online reviews of it, which seemed to hold it in high regard.0

What motherboard do you have that has a firewall built in?It's my problem, it's my problem

I was wondering that. Also a hardware firewall is only generally good for incoming data not controlling outgoing data unless you're manually configuring the settings all the time."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

The motherboard is a Foxconn NF4UK8AA-8EKRS (isn't it sad that two years after buying it I still know the model number from memory!)
It uses nVidia's nForce/ActiveArmor firewall which is configured via a web browser, and requires some kind of Windows driver/software to operate. So in that sense, I guess it's part-software, part-hardware. In any case, I can configure application settings individually (which I obviously can't on my router).
The only time the motherboard firewall doesn't run is when I boot into Linux, but then I use a software firewall...0 -
Ahh yes, I'd forgotten about the nVidia firewall (it causes so many problems most people uninstall it and have it switched off)."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
