Borrowed Car but keep getting parking fines
I live on resident housing when they have private parking company come in (UK parking control)
My car is currently in the garage being fixed. I have put a clear note next to my car permit saying the car i am using is borrowed and that my car is in garage.
however, i have gotten 3 parking tickets so far...i have emailed the parking company each time with photo evidence that i left a note. to check the car registration on the permit the parking attendant would have seem the note.
to me it common scene out of the window.
if i put a note saying that if i received another parking fine, i will sue - am i in my rights..?

Anyone can sue Anyone for anything. Doesn't mean you'll get very far with it though.
Simple fact if you're failing to display a valid permit for a vehicle. Yes you could argue every single one of the 'fines' but you're not abiding by the T+C's of the parking bays so you will get a ticket.

I would of thought after the first parking ticket I would of either got a temporary permit or parked elsewhere.0

Do you have your own numbered/marked space, or just a permit for a shared pool of spaces?
UK Parking Control are driven purely by profit, so don't expect sense or rationale in any manner; any excuse to invoice a car will be pounced on.0 -
Presumably there is a correct procedure for informing them of a change in the number plate associated with a particular permit, even for a short term, and I doubt that it is done by putting a note in your window. And technically you are not displaying a valid permit if it's not associated with the car you're displaying it in. But you're also right, it's common sense out of the window, but this is a private parking vampire we're talking about, and so common sense, empathy and reasoning are not their strong points.(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)0

i think yo are all right, i was looking at this too simply.
i did not expect my car to be in the garage so long..so did not think about getting a temp permit. this is something i will look into..0 -

Plenty of advice over there. The question to ask is did your property come with a freehold space or is the space leasehold or is it a common area.
As this is a property question, you'll need to understand your lease or rental agreement. Or go over to the parking forum where they deal with this every day.Unlike some here, I am not omniscient. If I am wrong correct me. I won't take offence.

Op you need to read the lease that came with the property. If you are renting ask the landlord. Then read it and see what it says about parking. Have a look to see if it says you have to display a permit or register your car then go to
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163
and read the Newbies thread which is the third one down.
Then follow the guidelines on there.
DO NOT ignore or do anything not on there, and do not give your name away on a public thread. There is a lot of old, misleading stuff around but the people who help write that Newbies thread know what they are doing and you will not have to pay any "fine" or get a CCJ.
When you have won write a thread to help others.

i did not even think about this as an option and glad that i sent out this post.
i guess i was relying on 'human common sense' with the parking attendant.0 -
