    What was the info from Grumpy crab? I must have missed it.
    Apart from the fixed link I did nothing. But I don't mind taking credit for the work of others :-)

    But it is strange I've just scanned the laptop with the Crucial scanner and I get this message:

    We’re sorry.

    Crucial currently does not have any compatible upgrades available for your particular system.'

    Go online and ask Crucial themselves, they are very helpful. It’s less time consuming than asking and waiting on here.

    Your laptop currently has a 2.5" SATA HDD, any 2.5" size SSD with a SATA interface will work.

    Erm....why? Is Crucial more qualified than ACER or we?

    The answer has been given time and time again.
    Even if it were the 32GB eMMC model, it would still be possible;

    Speak for yourself. You clearly don't have a clue.

    Crucial is actually Micron if you knew what you were on about. Their advisor tool is not the be all and end all.

    This anonymous expert had an IT consultancy a couple of decades ago servicing SMCs and from 2008-2013 had a business refurbishing ex-corporate laptops and selling them throughout the EU, probably doing more laptops in that 5 years than you'll set eyes on in a lifetime.

    Qualification in the "can I replace my existing HDD with an SSD" field?
