Hello there,
My boyfriend is a named driver on my car Insurance. He crashed his own car and claimed off his own insurance.
No claims have ever been made on my insurance, likewise my car has never been involved in an accident.
Hastings Direct have now stated that I’ve lost my no claims bonus at time of renewal.
Is that right? Claims have never been made on my insurance.
Advice hugely appreciated,
Many thanks,
Kate

Can you take him off your policy?
Renual normally asks if anyone on the policy has had a claim in the last x years.
With him off the policy the answer is accurately ‘no’
Perhaps that is what they mean ‘at renual’0 -
As stated....you should not lose your NCB but if he is still on your policy expect your premium to rise.0

Your policy charge may increase, but your no claims will not be lost.
What is the actual statement from Hastings, Increase or you have now no claims bonus? The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
Thanks - I’ve just received my proof of no claims doc, which has gone down from 5 years to 4 years, and lists his accident as a claim despite no claims ever being made on my insurance. I fully expect my premium to rise, but I’m certain it shouldn’t affect my no claims bonus. It must be a mistake. Let’s wait to see what they say.
Thanks again.0 -
Would agree with you a mistake. Perhaps tick box ticked wrong.
Please get back with result as it helps others in future in similar situations. The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
Thanks - yes hopefully it’s as simple as that. Will update once resolved.
