Airline cancelled inbound flight, BudgetAir does not reply or action my refund

Last year I bought 4 tickets for return flights from São Paulo (Brazil) to Santiago (Chile) with Avianca Brasil. The flights were booked in the U.K. on the BudgetAir website. We were due to fly back to São Paulo on 08/04/19 but the airline has issued notice that they will stop flying this route from 01/04/19 so I contacted them asking for information and was told that any refund or re-booking with a different airline needed to be processed via the booking agent. I contacted BudgetAir explaining the situation but did not receive a reply so tried to call them a few times but gave up after holding for over 30 minutes with no reply. I also contacted them via their website and received a reply that my flight was confirmed but despite a few more emails sent they did not confirm which airline I would be flying with and they have now stopped replying to my emails. I contacted Avianca Brasil who informed me that my flight is not yet confirmed.
How do I get them to provide me with a refund so I can book another fight? We are travelling with two young children and this situation is really stressing me out...

Avianca Brazil declared bankruptcy in December to protect possession of its fleet and some of its flights continue.
You have encountered a common problem, if any schedule changes occur, when booking through such a third party agent instead of directly with the airline, (which usually doesn't cost much more, if anything)l.
You can continue trying to to contact BudgetAir to get confirmation of rebooking or refund, but don't expect efficient service from them. If they continue to ignore you, ask your bank or credit card provider for a chargeback of what you paid, explaining the situation and your unsuccessful attempts to rectify it with the agent. Telling BudgetAir first that you intend to do this might actually get their attention.Evolution, not revolution0
