Food taking ages to be served - what are my rights?

Hi I’m currently sat in an eatery and after ordered we waited 45min to be served until my partner decided to query how much longer. It was then discovered the server had never put our order through and so reordered and was told a further 10min. It still hasn’t arrived and we have been offered free tea/coffee or cakes. We don’t eat or drink these. Any option for only paying for one meal when it finally arrives rather than both? We have ordered the same thing.

You can ask, but if you have accepted the delay then I guess you need to pay, you could have walked.
what are you drinking, they may offer those instead of the tea/coffee0 -

No I don’t drink coffee. Just left now and they took one of the meals off the bill after we declined the cakes and asked if we could instead have a discount :-)0

You have the right to leave and go to McDonalds - where the service is somewhat faster :rotfl:0 -

Nothing wrong with that, my partner is celiac.0 -
In the end I waited an hour. I’m sure most people would find that to somewhat hamper their dining experience so I’m not sure why I’m being trolled? The venue completely rectified it though by offering one meal free so we left happy customers.0
