Cetv of smart pension

Hi, I dont understand the cetv as such so lookin for help to understand. I pay 225pm into my smart pension, and 320pm into Brass 2. But on my requested cetv, it says my total is just over 76000 and includes my avc (brass 2) I thought brass 2 is separate and not included in the cetv ? Also I been payin for last 17yrs and I was expecting a bigger sum than that given. Does this seem right to anyone?

Why are you asking here if your AVC is included? You've already told us your CETV statement confirms it is.0

Wild/educated guess (delete as applicable) : the RPS doesnt allow 'orphan' AVCs, which is what transferring out your main benefits only would entail. However, the administrator (RPMI) will be able to confirm.0 -

mentions Brass 2 - it suggests a DB link for Brass 1.
I have a vague memory of a post from years back about BRASS which indicated that the scheme became less generous.
This is an up to date guide but Brass 2 is not specifically mentioned.

A CETV is the amount you would get if you transfer a DB pension to a personal pension or SIPP.
What is the pension you would get if you don't transfer? That is what you need to know to judge whether the CETV (ie transfer value) is worth getting advice to transfer. Thinking of the advice costs mentioned by others on here, IMO it would be expensive to do for a CETV of £760000 -
What struck me is that if the OP has seventeen years in a DB pension the CETV seems rather low.0

Are you still an active member of the scheme? If so you can't get a CETV figure. It sounds like the 76k figure is just the value of your AVC pot, and doesn't include the main pension.0

I think your best bet is to ring the administrator and clarify your position.0
