Stick it out, and they will ALWAYS back down if they realise youre not intimidated by them.

They have not backed down. They now have £90 of your money which they had no entitled to. You have been stitched up like a kipper.

I hope you realise that your £90 may be funding white slavery, the import of banned substances, and fake Nikes in the market place. Hardly the sort of behaviour one would expect from a future dirty shirt.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

after discussing the issue with my tutor (Law Tutor!) and after weighing all the pros and cons of proceeding to court, where I possibly would win, I would still be out of pocket to the tune of £160 in lost earnings!
It seems that he/she forgot to tell you about the option of absenting yourself and asking the Judge to make a decision 'on the papers'? Costs you no loss of salary at all.

DO NOT PAY MONEY, THIS IS NOT A RESULT AND NOTHING TO POST ABOUT. If anything, it misleads people reading it into thinking that contacting BW Legal and/or offering silly money you do not have, is a good thing.

Come back when you've realised we are right and you can defend & win without costing yourself a penny.
I cannot find a option to attach a pdf
    Easy to do.

Give us a link to a Dropbox shared link URL. Just change http to hxxp (because you can't yet post a working link, so ''break'' it) and we can see it and help you.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I don't understand your logic as £90 is £30 more than you could have paid at the outset. Having to pay an increase of 33% over the base price doesn't figure as a 'win' in my book.

Different strokes for different folks and all that!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I cannot believe the rudeness and vitriol from some on here in response to my post.
I did my homework, knew I had a reasonable defence and would probably win in the end, BUT, I dont have time to be arsing around on forums and web sites looking for a way out so after discussing the issue with my tutor (Law Tutor!) and after weighing all the pros and cons of proceeding to court, where I possibly would win, I would still be out of pocket to the tune of £160 in lost earnings!

As such, paying £90 is definitely a win to me, get the paraistes off my back, and proves a point for those who do not wish to continue with the constant harrassment and threats of ever increasing costs. My post was simply to let them know that if you stick to your guns, they will back down as THEY are the ones scared of going to court-NOT ME!!

As for posting a copy of the letter accepting my offer- I cannot find a option to attach a pdf so you'll have to do without, but to be accused of being in collusion or even lying says more about the arrogance of certain people on this forum.

A win at POPLA wouldn't cost a penny and you wouldn't have to pay £90

It may well be a win for you and in the grand scheme of things that is/was always your choice. Unfortunately the bigger picture eludes you, whilst I'm sure your post was well intentioned it is very misleading and is completely against the ethos of the many (very experienced) regulars who give their time freely often putting in great efforts to try and explain to new posters how and what they need to do.

You again make an error with your assumption that parking scammers are 'scared' of Court THEY ARE NOT!!

In actual fact the parking scammers treat Court as a very profitable 'loss leader' due to the fact that for every case they may lose the mere fact they take people to Court probably scares 100,s maybe 1000,s into paying.

Promoting the fact they take people to Court is probably the best form of 'paid advertising' they could ever use. We on the forum are only too familiar that the efforts put in to fighting back against these despicable no morals companies is most likely 1% (or even less) of PCN,s issued BUT its a start and hopefully the new Law coming into effect soon will help bring these ex-clampers into line.

Arrogance on this forum is misjudged by you, I have only been here approximately a year and since I put my scammer back in their swamp I like the regulars see the same questions asked over and over again so 'straightforward to the point' answers is what many regulars offer, they don't mean to insult but I'm sure you get my (and theirs) viewpoint.
