I'd agree with that, but if you're looking for reliable cheap basic transport they fit the bill.

Each to their own I guess. Maybe it's more fun to drive than it looks.

That's some joyless motoring right there.

    You get joy from motoring?

I get no joy whatsoever from trying to drive round speed humps, waiting in massive queues of traffic, negotiating badly parked cars, watching the speedo in case I roll faster than 30mph on a steep downhill....

Some people just want a car to not have to catch several buses to get to work, and to collect their shopping. Anything reliable and easy to park will do.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Which hideous vehicle was it that you were previously extolling the virtues of? ;)

Sorry no personal experience, but I have two friends with Sanderos, had them a number of years and very happy with them. One a city driver the other quite rough rural. Reliable and economical and consumables very reasonable so they say. Also have a friend with a newish Duster, also happy so far but not had it long.
I've been a passenger in the Sanderos and they are comfortable and feel solidly built and plenty of room for tall folk.
No ideas on engine variant. Good luck with your choice.

The venerable Almera whispers its secrets, it doesn't shout them like a vulgar Focus or a pushy 206.

For those who have the time and the patience to appreciate this elder statesman of the roads the rewards are many.

And you can fill it with vegetable oil and it never needs servicing.

If you look up "joyless" in the dictionary it says "see Nissan Almera"
  • My partner drives an Almera. It's okay...but having driven it the length of the country...give me my Sandero any day.
