The UK is now beginning to see devices sold similar to the US against radiation from smart meters, known as cages.

They arrear to be to be available for all current UK types, the problem is top ups are unlikely to go on or if out side possibly be removed by a meter reader or trigger a call out.

So we've got a company that sells faraday cages to put over the smart meter which claims the radiation from smart meters is harmful.....

Simple solution that all supermarkets sell the raw material for...
Roll of tin foil, and make a hat out of it. Will protect you from all those nasty mobile phone signals, TV and radio broadcasts too, not to mention your neighbour's wireless router. Of course you don't have such an evil device.

Always worth remembering that microwave ovens keep the microwaves in using a faraday cage so provide a very effective shield against stray radiation. Obviously, in a radiation emergency they're not big enough to hide in, but you could at least save your cat or rabbit by putting it in there.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE. If you do this, please ensure you unplug the microwave from the mains and remove the plug from the lead to avoid an unpleasant accidental end to Tiddles / Flopsy.

Don't forget to wrap your mobile phone and wifi router in tin foil and for gods sake turn off your laptop. Not only have you got wifi squirting out of it but the blue light from the screen is doing dire things to your eyes. Better still just turn everything off

These look too flimsy to be any good, They should be knocked up out of sheet metal and wont work if the rear of the meter is unshielded - in fact the the cage on the front of the meter is more likely to like a reflector and concentrate the signal rearward into the house.

And only £35, surely they can get more from any one stupid and gullible enough to buy this sort of rubbish
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers
  • Good grief, a company selling a product to defeat the whole point of having a meter that communicates by the mobile radio network.

It's a bit like having your phone in a lift and wondering why you can't get a signal.

You don't need a whole cage, you can use one of these and the Smart meter will be no more dangerous than if it was disconnected altogether:
