To be fair it's so idiotic it might be true.0

Honestly we mentioned it but our main priority was to get out of there and go and set up the wedding venue, it was only really later in the day that we decided this was probably quite illegal Ok, so then you rang the police?... I'm aware it sounds ridiculous but none of us had (unsurprisingly) experienced anything like this before!
You know I've never been stabbed, but should it happen I suspect I'd consider calling the police, perhaps at the same time, if not shortly after, calling an ambulance0 -

Call 101 and discuss the situation with them.0 -
This happened yesterday, hence just throwing it out there to see if it warrants contacting the police...
Let me get this straight. A random stranger turns up. They hold you hostage and demand money with menaces. They refuse to let you go till you tip over £150. You now wonder if you should call the police.
Are you seriously asking that?0 -
Thanks for that one...
Actually its entirely true and the reason I posted... because it is so ridiculous that I'm not sure where to go with it. The owner is still hassling the member of the party who left their contact details whereas I'm unsure about the legality of their actions in the first place. This happened yesterday, hence just throwing it out there to see if it warrants contacting the police...
Hes harassing them, a whole day later?
The nerve of some people0 -
While the police may have been interested at the time, I can't see them bothering to do much now the situation appears to have resolved itself. And getting them involved wouldn't get you the money back anyway.0

ok... the owner (who was abroad) was informed of the stain by the housekeeper... whilst discussing where the £500 figure had been plucked from they contacted some local guys to block our exit, having already taken the key to the house.
No deposit for cleaning was taken, nor a contract signed so I assume this was all done in order to guarantee a cleaning fee was taken. Even as I'm typing this I'm aware how ridiculous it is but we had 2 hours to get everything sorted, leave and set up for the wedding! Becoming embroiled with a police investigation was hardly top of the priority list at the time... the ridiculousness of it only really hit home over the course of the day0 -

but it was never going to become a police investigation was it - it was a domestic/private issue.
Where they would have got involved was with any criminal actions - for example, imprisonment....?0
