Tesco self-scan and vouchers?
Comments
-
I love self scan.
I use vouchers from the KwikSave magasines (available in store) and always use a £1.00 and a £1.50 voucher at Tesco's for whatever I buy. The tills don't require staff input if you only use TWO coupons.
You also get club points on the amount spent before the coupons are deducted.Watch out for Freddie the Fox at the Shay !!0 -
Could anyone explain (small words please!) what you have to do with this self-scan malarkey?
Quite fancy having a go.....♥♥♥ Genius - 1% inspiration and 99% doing what your mother told you. ♥♥♥0 -
Instructions as follows
1. Touch 'start' on the screen.
2. Swipe bar-code over the scanner, and place on conveyor belt.
3. Place fruit/veg e.g. bananas on the scales and press loose products; look up bananas on the menu and press.
4.Press 'finish and pay' when done when done.
5.Press clubcard, then swipe
6.Press coupons then swipe bar code, and pace coupon in slot
7. Press debit/credit card and then swipe.
8.Await receipt then pack bags.
If like me you take a five year old with you, it only takes three times longer than a till, but is cheaper than taking him to the pictures.0 -

rcman wrote:Personally, I refuse to use self-scan. Why give The supermarkets more money? A self-scan syastem is staff wages they are not having to pay, and yet they don't pass any significant discount onto the customer. If I wanted to work for tesco, I would. Why should I do their work for free?
Bet you use cash machines though dont you.0 -

There is always a staff member monitoring what is happening and the conveyor belt stops the procedure if you say put two items on when you have only scanned one, its all very clever really.
But if you are on your own you can't scan and pack at the same time and if you have a lot of shopping you have to stop scanning to pack some as it back up onto the conveyor belt and stops the process!
My daughter loves it, especially paying with my card at the end of the shop.

Sorry, sorry, sorry....still don't quite get it...(having a blonde/senior moment obviously!)

Are there leaflets in store explaining all this?
So, do you do your shopping first of all then find this special 'conveyor belt' thingy...(can't say I've ever seen one!)
I thought there was some sort of 'hand scanner thingy' involved and you scanned as you went around...(sure I've seen peeps doing that!!) or is that a different supermarket?
I'm determined to get the hang of this eventually as I've got loads of coupons!♥♥♥ Genius - 1% inspiration and 99% doing what your mother told you. ♥♥♥0 -
It looks like your store hasn't installed them yet!
You will know them when you see them - they are like ordinary checkouts complete with a conveyor belt, but no checkout operator - you do all the scanning of shopping yourself.0 -
