I have done a will but where I went wrong (going from reading the threads on this board) is that I went with a will writing firm (I know, I know, stupid, stupid, MbW!)

I've been thinking about getting it redone by a proper solicitor this time, so I suppose (at least) I could use the existing one as a guide for the new one (as well as a lesson learnt for who to use).

I think you'll find that your solicitor will want to start from scratch and use their own terminology.

Have you made the will writers the executors?

Are they charging you for storing the will?

I'll have to dig it out and double check - my wife's an executor and they made a one-off charge for storage (supposed to be at the House of Lords archive).

That cannot possibly happen. Your Mother (see your other thread) would have had to sign it or in some other way make her mark to the satisfaction of the solicitor dealing with it.

However, it may be entirely true to say that your sibling put pressure on your mother to change her will or helped Mother to get another will drawn up without your knowledge.

That is not the same thing at all as what you claim above. As I understand it, fraudulent wills are very rare indeed.

You say in your other thread your mum changed her will. That's completely different to a sibling changing it.....
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....
