No milage display

Hello I recently purchased a car Ford focus zetec climate 06 plate and the dashboard has 2 displays one for if the car is in Park or drive and underneath it says the milage but the dashboard was abut faulty and I had it repaired where I bought the car from and now the display where the milage was has gone blank literally nothing in there the question is could that fail the MOT I have done abit of Research it says it should be OK just was confirmation...

    AFAIK the odometer is not tested.

    But when you come to sell it expect any offer you get to be well below the equivalent for a similar car that can show evidence of mileage. Why don't you just get the odometer repaired?

    Thanks for the reply, I recelty purchased the car and the dashboard was even worse warning lights kept coming on and I mean every warning light thw car wouldn't even start sometimes but now I got it fixed from the place I bought it from I don't know how they done it or what they done reset it or what but now the lcd where the milage was is now blank

    This is a common focus issue. It should have been replaced years ago. I had one years ago and it was repalced 6 months before I got mine, resetting it to zero.


    Expect whatever milage you were told to be wrong also. Not that is matters on that age of car.

    Well I checked the previous MOTS and they all seem legit only done 76k on the clock I'm thinking whether to contact Ford and see what they suggest

    When you say they "fixed" warning lights coming on all the time, do they still come on before you start the engine or did they just blank the dash completely?

    Nah they all still come on as normal when i start the car they were all coming on whiksg driving and coming up with error messages but it's OK I had the RAC come out they said nothing seems wrong with the car just the dashboard the car itself is lovley to drive it had 1 previous owner an elderly explained why it only don't 76k miles but the car itself is really nice

    That's true, but the OP decided to buy it so you'd have to hope it was not much money and that he intends to run it into the ground as it's pretty much worthless now.
