Letter before claim

Just received a letter before claim.

I’ve read the sticky but don’t understand most of it - I’m not clear in what stage I’m at.

I originally challenged the PCN which was on a private council ground carpark. I didn’t know they used cameras to check what time you left the carpark and I was back to my vehicle on time (after extending my my parking on the mobile)but I had to make a telephone call which I did before leaving the carpark and so they fined me!!

Since original letters were transferred to DRP I have been ignoring them as the forum recommended.

This morning I received a letter before claim from Gladstone’s.

What do I do?
I am also in process of applying for a DRO which is a desperate issue.

Is it council or private? Sounds like private if you have LoC from Gladstones. Go to NEWBIE sticky HERE and start reading what to do about LoC/LBC/LBA. If you have received one, did you not receive the PCN or NtD or NTK or any other idea that you had parked incorrectly according to the PPC? Ignoring has not been the recommendation on this forum since 2012.

Have you derived your forum username from your real name?

If so, you would be wise to get your forum username changed to something very much more anonymous.

To help with that, you might like to read this short extract from The MSE Forum Guide - Frequently Asked Questions & Rules:
    Q. How can I change my username?

    A.
In most circumstances, this is not permitted.

The only reason we will change your username is if it puts your privacy at risk. This usually means you've inadvertently registered using your name, email address or something that gives away your identity within your username.

If you fall into this category, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com and request that it is changed, giving three alternative usernames in order of preference.

I read loads of threads that said to ignore it as they can’t do anything etc - it’s a private car park

I did get a PCN and challenged it which they ignored - then just loads of letters which I ignored as per the online threads but now Gladstones letter arrived today
  • And to clarify the Gladstones letter tells me to pay the debt company...I’m so confused as to what this means. I’ve spent the day looking at all the threads and I’m just even more confused.

That means it is a debt collector's letter.

Post #4 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread offers comprehensive guidance on how to deal with those.

As Redx asked, can you please tell us the name of the parking company?

Here's how another poster dealt with Smart and that site:

Complain to the Cricket Ground as that poster did.

Contact details for the CloudFM County Ground.
Assuming this is the CloudFM County Ground at New Writtle Street, there is a web page HERE full of contact details. I would suggest you contact the PA to the Chief Executive at alana.stokes@essexcricket.org.uk and also copy in the General Enquiries at questions@essexcricket.org.uk
