  • Thank you PDC, davidmcn and fosterdog.

Yes - it would make sense if he thought nobody was in, started to fill out the card but then stopped when somebody opened the door.

Yeah unbelievably we had 3 last week for the same delivery. One saying left at no.6, one saying left at no.12 and one saying ignore other cards, in safe place! Not sure how on earth that scenario unfolded, but its a regular DPD guy so I'll have to ask him when I see him.

If it's not fully filled out maybe it was just a card that they were going to use but didn't and put it in what they thought was the correct recycling bin (maybe where they live the green box is for paper/card recycling). It really could be as simple as the card was a piece of litter and they put it in a bin.

I think this is exactly what happened. Thanks. Looking at the card again, I was mistaken to say anything was written on it. It's a pre-printed card (obviously) saying "left with your neighbour" on one side and something like "Can be collected from" on the other side. No hand writing and no boxes ticked.

My wife is also adamant that everything she has bought has been delivered.

    Thanks to all who replied.
