Received my first 2 NIP within a week

Hey guys, new to this site, but basically I received 2 NIP letters; the first one was doing 78 mph in a 50 mph zone and the 2nd I received 6 days later and I was doing 80 mph in a 70 mph zone. They’ve asked me to fill out a form asking if I was the driver or not ( I was in both cases) but if I send these off, what happens?

I’m absolutely scared to my bones of what’s going to happen to me, I seriously can’t lose my license but can anyone tell me what might happen to me? Will I get a course and 3 points on my license?

I suggest you join pepipoo fightback forums and post in the motoring section that deals with speeding cases on public roads

78 in a 50 is beyond a course, so almost certainly a fine and points (3 I would think).
You might get away with a course and no points for 80 in a 70, but 3 more points are quite possible and probably likely.
If you have a clean licence now, 6 points won't result in a ban, but an increase in your insurance premium.

Not going to be judgemental in any way, but expect that!

unless the OP is a new driver , less than 2 years for example , where 6 points is the threshold

I should of said, i will have my license for exactly 2 years on the 16 March 2019 (using this figure as it Says on my license), my plan was to send the letters to the address on the day. I should be okay because as if I send the forms, I still fall between the time limit I have to send it ( My deadline is the 26 March for the first NIP)

Oh dear. Your plan might work, but I really don't know. As Redx said though, go on Pepipoo and you'll perhaps get more information there.

DVLA suggest the points run from the date of the offence:

Any thoughts on what might have happened to anyone/any vehicle you might have hit at that speed - 78mph in a 50mph zone? Perhaps your thoughts should be directed in that direction. This isn't a case of a few mph over the limit.

    Are you a young driver?

Didn’t hit any vehicle at all and yes, driving for 2 years now

at the time of the tickets you had not held a full licence for 2 years , therefore you come under new driver laws , 6 points = a ban
  • Sorry to be a pedantic, if a new driver gets six points, they do not get banned.

Their licence is revoked and they must reapply for a provisional, then take the necessary tests again.

Thanks for the information guys. Looking at it now, my future doesn’t look to good, but hopefully, maybe they could give a speed awareness course for one and the 3 points for the other
